I was picked out of the crowd 25 years ago and did the foul shots.........there was a lady who sat next to my mother and I and took pictures and told us she we send us the copies, the lady never didhno:
my old man used to take me in the late 70's early 80's to the garden as a lil kid to see 2 things: ringling bros. barnum bailey circus and the harlem globetrotters(then eventually concerts, knicks, rangers games ecac holiday tourney..remember that?)....looked forward to nothing else as a lil kid..made me want to go slide around playground 1 on the lower east side and try to dribble on my back and side

Went when I was in elementary school because I still lived with my grandparents. Thought they were great and tried to do the Curly Neal dribbling tricks on my grandmothers porch. The NEW screen porch she just had finished. Was doing good untill the ball went straight off my knee and right through the NEW screen door (screen in those days were flimsy compared to today) and promptly received the worst whipping on my young life up to that point. One of those hickory whippings that leaves a child longing for Jesus to save him. Even with the bad childhood memory, I always loved the Globetrotters especially when they got the Magic Circle Working With Sweet Georgia Brown. Just Too Cool For School.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Former Harlem Globetrotter and prolific entertainer of the masses Meadowlark Lemon has died at the age of 83. His death was confirmed by his wife, Dr. Cynthia Lemon, to the New York Times. Globetrotters spokesman Brett Meister told the Associate Press Lemon's wife and daughter confirmed to the team that he died Sunday in Scottsdale, Ariz. Meister did not know the cause of death.
When I was about 12 or 13, I went to a Globetrotter show with my friend..it was a good time. Then after the show, we were walking out of the arena, and I turned around and my friend got lost or something. Then about 5 minutes later, I found my friend. He looked like he saw a ghost. I asked him what happened and he said that he was looking for a place to take a piss and he accidentally walked into the Globetrotters' dressing room. He said that Meadowlark Lemon went off on him... started cussing him out and shit. I thought that was pretty funny. I was like 'Meadowlark did that..no way' lol
